Corona Renderer 5 for Cinema 4D R21: New Features & Optimizations

Corona 5 for Cinema 4D R21 is now supported.

This version focuses on:

  1. Optimizations to caustics, resulting in both memory savings and faster rendering.
  2. 2.5D Displacement, offering significant savings to memory usage.
  3. Improved handling of Corona Proxies, which can now include animation and feature better management of large numbers of proxies using the same data.
  4. Multi Shader, enabling randomizing colors or textures between objects or sub-objects.
  5. UVWRandomizer updated to include the Mesh Element mode (for randomization across sub-objects) and Object buffer ID mode.
  6. Select Shader and Select Material added, allowing an object to store multiple shaders or materials (like a self-contained “mini-library”).
  7. Corona Sky object replaces the Corona Sky tag, allowing multiple environments in LightMix and the use of any shader as environment lighting.
  8. And of course, there are numerous quality of life improvements, bug fixes, and UI improvements!
