Epic Games has unveiled Unreal Engine 4.23, packed with a host of new features and enhancements. One of the most anticipated additions is Chaos, a revolutionary physics and fracturing system designed to enable real-time destruction simulations. This is achieved through a new asset type that allows users to combine static meshes into collections, which can then be fractured in a variety of ways.
This release also brings significant improvements to real-time ray tracing, including boosted performance and enhanced stability and quality. Virtual Texturing has been included, enabling users to create and utilize far larger textures while minimizing memory usage during runtime.
As with any major Unreal release, a comprehensive list of other changes and additions is available.
