Flix 6.1 Release: New Features & Avid Media Composer Integration

Flix 6.1 release

Foundry has unveiled the newest iteration of Flix, their collaborative story development tool.

This release enhances Flix’s collaborative capabilities through a new workflow between Flix and Avid Media Composer. Publishing from Flix to Media Composer is designed to be effortless, allowing artists to re-confirm a sequence from editorial into Flix using only AAFs.

Beyond the Avid Media Composer integration, Flix 6.1 introduces a new Project Migration Tool. This tool facilitates the transfer of existing Flix 5 projects into Flix 6, preserving version history, dialogue, and timing for all episodes and sequences.

Export Preference has also seen improvements, simplifying the process of exporting assets. These assets can now be named and organized within Flix at the studio or show level, eliminating the need for users and departments to be concerned about naming conventions and file locations.

Further enhancements include the ability to filter panel highlights, the introduction of an Autosave feature, a ‘Starred Shows’ feature for quick access to favorite shows at the top of the projects list, and improved server monitoring tools for better performance diagnostics.
