Flame 2020.1 Update: Sky Extraction & Machine Learning Features

Flame 2020.1 released

Autodesk has just released a new update for its Flame Family. This update introduces innovative tools to isolate and manipulate common objects in moving footage, specifically for color grading and compositing. A notable addition is the new sky extraction tool. Here’s a glimpse of what else is included:

  • Mattes can now be extracted from motion vector data.
  • You can customize layouts by configuring viewports, the storyboard, the media panel, the timeline effects pipeline, and the manager to create a personalized user interface that’s easily recalled.
  • New organizational features allow you to filter shots for focused adjustments and immediate comparisons within Groups.
  • Python scripts can be automatically downloaded directly from GitHub, offering easy access within Flame. These scripts are sourced via the Autodesk GitHub repository, with a dedicated location for the Flame family.
  • Preview video with AJA KONA 5 and AJA Io 4K Plus playout devices. 4K and UHD video rasters are now supported with 6G SDI single cable transport for up to 30P framerates, and 12G SDI single cable transport for up to 60P framerates.
  • Content can now be exported directly from Flame in Interoperable Master Format (IMF) for distribution to broadcasters and video streaming services.
  • Access to Nvidia RTX GPU dedicated Tensor computation cores is provided for intensive Machine Learning computations. These processes will function on older, certified hardware as well.
