Epic Games recently announced the acquisition of Quixel, the creators of the Megascans library, the Mixer, and the Bridge apps.
With this acquisition, the entire Megascans library is now freely available for use with Unreal Engine, with no limitations on downloads or resolution.
While a subscription is still necessary for using assets in other applications, the pricing has been lowered, and full resolution 8k textures are now offered at every tier.
This announcement also brought news that Mixer and Bridge will be available for free indefinitely, even for those without a subscription. Quixel Suite, which included NDO, DDO, and 3DO, will be discontinued to prioritize the development of these two newer standalone applications.
