Following the Max release, Chaos Czech has announced the release of Corona 4 for Cinema 4D. This version introduces the same Caustics algorithm as the Max version, promising swift performance and straightforward setup with just a few clicks. It supports both reflective and refractive caustics, including dispersion for the latter. Caustics can be enabled or disabled on a per-light basis, and the results are fully compatible with Corona’s Lightmix post-production tool.
The release also introduces the capability to run IR mode directly within a docked viewport, alongside the ability to stack displacements.
Further enhancements include the option to select objects and set the focal point within a rendered image, available in both the VFB and viewport interactive rendering modes. Cameras gain a new fisheye mode, and the Intel AI Denoiser is no longer limited to Intel GPUs.
Lightmix becomes even more versatile with the ability to render multiple suns and environments, allowing for swapping or mixing them after rendering is complete.
In previous releases, noise maps used in the Absorption, Scatter, or Emission channels in the Corona Volume material were only calculated at the surface of the volume object. A new “Inside Volume” mode provides true 3D volume non-heterogenous materials.
