Chaos has announced the release of Corona 10 for 3ds Max and Cinema 4D. This latest version introduces exciting new features.
One notable addition is the ability to control individual material channels in Corona Decal without affecting key attributes. This allows for easier integration of alterations to diffuse, displacement, metalness, and other aspects directly into the underlying material.
Corona 10 now offers enhanced volume rendering capabilities, allowing the camera to navigate through complex environments such as smoke, clouds, or even partial submersion in water simulations.
Another improvement is the refined Depth of Field highlight blurring. Utilizing Corona’s new algorithm, bright highlights in out-of-focus areas appear sharper and cleaner, enabling users to seamlessly direct viewers’ attention to the desired subject.
Listers, a highly requested feature, has been integrated into Corona 10. Designers can now quickly locate and globally adjust scene objects, including scatters, lights, proxies, displacement, and cameras, through a new tabbed UI. This consolidation of frequently edited parameters is designed to improve editing speed and facilitate easier comparisons.
Finally, the Corona Benchmark has been updated to align with the new rendering core. This provides testers with a precise measure of the rendering speed of their CPU hardware using Corona 10. The results can be shared publicly or used to create a database that aids in future hardware purchasing decisions for both companies and individual users.
