Blender 3.2 Released: Key Features and Enhancements
The Blender Foundation has officially released Blender 3.2, bringing a host of new features and improvements to the popular open-source 3D creation suite.
Key Features in Blender 3.2
- Light Groups Support: Modify the color and intensity of lights in post-production without the need for re-rendering. This significantly speeds up the lighting workflow.
- Enhanced Cycles Caustics: Cycles now offers selective rendering of caustics within the shadows of refractive objects, providing more control and realism.
- Volumetric Motion Blur: Motion blur is now supported for volumetrics, adding a new level of dynamism to animations involving smoke, fire, or other volumetric effects.
- Improved Poly Painting: Numerous improvements to poly painting have been made, including the ability to paint directly in sculpt mode.
- Color Attribute Preservation: Color attributes are now preserved when using the remesher, maintaining artistic intent during mesh optimization.
- Enhanced Masking and Face Sets: Full support for masking, auto-masking, and face sets is now available with color attribute painting.
- New Geometry Nodes: A new “Duplicate Elements” geometry node simplifies the process of creating multiple copies of objects or parts of a mesh.
- Asset Browser Collections: The asset browser now supports asset collections, streamlining asset management and organization.
- Curve Pen Tool: A new Curve Pen tool provides greater precision and control when creating and editing curves.
- Grease Pencil Enhancements: Grease Pencil gains a new envelope modifier, connecting all points that are N points apart.
- Video Sequencer Improvements: Improved channel management in the Video Sequencer enhances the video editing workflow.
