The Blender Foundation has unveiled Blender 2.93 LTS, marking the latest iteration in their Long Term Support program.
This release introduces exciting new features. Highlights include the addition of 22 new nodes to the Geometry Nodes Editor, empowering users with enhanced control and creative possibilities. Sculpting tools gain the ability to create, edit, and expand masks seamlessly. Users can now generate stylized Grease Pencil lines that elegantly wrap around 3D objects, improving visual aesthetics. Furthermore, a rewritten interpolate operator optimizes performance. Expanded import-export options for Grease Pencil now include the ability to import SVGs and export vectors and PDFs. A revamped Grease Pencil fill tool offers enhanced speed and precision. Eevee sees improvements in volumetrics, ambient occlusion (AO), and depth of field, delivering more realistic and visually appealing results. The new persistent data setting in Cycles optimizes re-render times, significantly streamlining the workflow. The update includes other enhancements.
