Content-Aware Fill for video is coming to After Effects.

Adobe is preparing to launch a new feature in its widely-used After Effects software, a tool specifically designed for the visual effects community: Content-Aware Fill for video.
Content-Aware Fill is a feature already available in Adobe Photoshop. It utilizes advanced algorithms to remove unwanted objects seamlessly from still images. Now, this powerful tool is being adapted for use with video.
Scheduled for release just before the NAB Show in Las Vegas, Content-Aware Fill for video analyzes the motion and depth of masked objects within a video clip. It then combines motion tracking with intelligent pixel replacement. In scenarios where the area behind the masked object is not visible, the system intelligently predicts the missing content.
Java Post Production in Canada put the new tool through its paces while working on the forthcoming film A Score to Settle, directed by Shawn Ku and starring Nic Cage and Benjamin Bratt, for GoldRush Entertainment and Minds Eye Entertainment.
“Nearly every project we undertake now involves some form of object removal – logos, unwanted items, shadows, and so on,” noted Jack Tunnicliffe, owner of Java Post. “Thanks to Content Aware Fill, we can complete many of these tasks directly within After Effects.”
