AXYZ design recently unveiled anima 5.1, the newest update to its crowd simulation software.

With anima 5.1, users gain the ability to duplicate and adjust subscription assets within their projects. It’s worth noting that the original asset must be installed and accessible for these modified resources to function correctly. To enhance the user experience, animated thumbnails now showcase assets from the online store, simplifying the preview process. Furthermore, users can customize thumbnail sizes within the actor panel and leverage the integrated search engine, enabling effortless asset discovery.

anima 5.1 also introduces a new reset time slider, allowing users to set the precise time for actors to be repositioned to a path’s beginning. Additionally, a new toggle offers the option to reveal or conceal passwords in the sign-in dialog. The search engine from the original store has been incorporated into the actor panel. Plus, this update brings improvements to project packing performance, which is particularly beneficial when sending projects to render farms. Finally, the plugins now have the capability to display a special model, indicating an access error when retrieving data from 4D resources.

The 3ds Max Plugin in anima 5.1 now enables duplicated drop characters to be copies instead of instances, thereby improving compatibility of 4D models with Chaos Vantage. Moreover, it adds support for 3ds Max 2024. The Maya Plugin also sees an update, now including support for Maya 2024.
