Alexey Vanzhula has introduced Modeler 1.0, the evolution of Direct Modeling for Houdini. This release brings a suite of enhancements, including a revamped alignment menu. With this new menu, users can access tools for transformation, featuring a compass, geometry centering, and intuitive flattening tools. The menu also offers a variety of other transformation utilities.

Additionally, a new Deform Menu (accessed by pressing the ‘N’ hotkey) gives access to interactive deformation tools, with a new Lattice tool among the key additions. The update allows users to redefine the startup selection pick style in Modeler. Also, the integration of hard and soft Boolean tools into a dedicated menu called Boolean marks another significant improvement.

Beyond these features, Modeler 1.0 boasts a Fix Curves tool for smoothing out and correcting broken lines in open polygons. A Select Curves tool has also been added, specifically designed to help users select open polygons. The software is available for purchase with a perpetual license priced at $100.
