Issue: “Cannot export map” Error

The error “Cannot export map” indicates that some of the maps in your exported scene are not compatible with the Corona standalone application.

Possible Causes

The scene contains map(s) that are incompatible with Corona.

Solutions

  • Replace incompatible maps: Replace the problematic maps with maps that are compatible with the Corona standalone application.
  • Bake procedural maps: If the problematic map (or any of the maps connected to it) is a procedural map mapped in UVW space (not world or object space), you can bake it into a bitmap, which is supported by Corona standalone. To do this:
    1. Right-click on the map and select the “Render Map..” option.
    2. Before rendering the map, ensure the UV tiling is set to 1 and 1.
    3. Once the rendered map is loaded as a bitmap, set the tiling back to its previous value.
