Causes:
Texture bitmaps being pulled from mapped network drives may cause time-out issues during the “geometry processing” part of the Octane render, potentially leading to render crashes.
3ds Max may disappear immediately without generating a Customer Error Report (CER).
Solution:
To address these issues, consider the following steps:
- Utilize the File > Archive Function or the Command Panel > Utilities > Resource Collector menu to collect and zip all bitmap assets used in the scene.
- Unzip these files to a folder on the local PC.
- Use the 3ds Max File > References > Asset Tracking Toggle menu to re-path the scene bitmap assets to the local PC folder.
