Pilgway has released 3DCoat 2022.28, introducing enhanced features like auto-export to Blender and USD export capabilities for Unreal Engine 5. This update allows for the efficient export of multiple assets simultaneously. Key improvements in this release include:
- Enhanced precision of the partitioning line within the moulding tool.
- Prevention of autosave during active brush strokes.
- An upgraded color picker that now supports multi-select for image additions, hexadecimal color strings (#RRGGBB), and the ability to edit colors in hexadecimal format or by entering a color name directly.
- The Snake, Spikes, Toothpaste, and Muscle tools now feature “Act as vox hide” functionality, along with UI improvements.
- Improved FBX export functionality, including the option to export embedded textures (useful for Unreal Engine), refined look preferences (In/Out), and corrected texture assignments within the FBX format.
- Enhanced auto-export with direct asset export to Blender, including PBR materials. The export process can also automatically center assets and offers the option to export multiple assets, each to its own folder.
- Better compatibility with Unreal Engine 5 (although still not perfect due to FBX limitations with full PBR). Users can now set custom scan depths.
- Resolution of an issue where the Start menu would appear incorrectly.
